Tom Morey finds his place in surf history both as a surfer and an innovator. When it comes to riding waves, Morey is frequently listed as one of the best during the 50's, especially in Malibu. But he is perhaps best known for being the inventor of the boogie board. In addition to numerous inventions, Morey also created the first professional surfing contest, held in 1965 at C street in Ventura, California.
