Custom Works originated in the 1980s at the dawn of the worldwide BMX craze. Roger Worsham created what would soon be one of the most popular BMX manufacturing companies, and CW rapidly grew in popularity. CW invented the original Z-frame, composed of 4130 aircraft-tested chrome-moly tubes, a durable and reliable design. CW accumulated a wide customer base as they offered any bike from BMX racing to Street to a Sidewalk bike. Revered names in competitive biking competed on the CW Racing Team. In 1986, Mike Buff, a prominent member of the BMX Action Trick Team, competed for CW on the freestyle team. Revcore became the new name for CW in 1988, and lasted until 1995 when its doors finally closed. Though the shop is shuttered, the revered name lives on through the innovative designs it put forth revolutionizing the BMX world.
