LA Steamship Company Poster
Beginning in 1922 the Los Angeles Steamship Company featured service between LA and Hawaiian ports in Hilo, Maui, and Honolulu. The initial trip took 7 days each way, and cost between $325 and $635. With a set of luxury ammenities including a pool and gymnasium, as well as fine dining and entertainment, the Los Angeles Steamship Company quickly became a major competitor to Matson, who eventually purchased the company in 1931.
