Maui Surf Club

Maui is renowned for its natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere, but it also boasts a deep connection to surfing. The roots of modern surfing on the Valley Isle trace back to the Ho'okipa Surfriders Club, formed in 1935. By 1959, surfing experienced a revival on Maui, leading the club to rename itself as the Maui Surf Club. On June 11, 1960, the club hosted the First Annual Lahaina Invitational Surfboard Paddling Races, further cementing its influence on Maui’s surf culture. Explore our collection honoring the Maui Surf Club and the island’s enduring legacy in the world of surfing.
