Unit price perAs the name suggests, Hawaii Country Club is in fact the oldest public golf course on the island of Oahu. Opened in 1958, Hawaii Country Club is located in the “Kunia district” among the majestic pineapple fields at the foot of the Waianae Mountain Range. While many new golf courses were built on defunct sugar can plantations, Hawaii Country Club was not. It preserves the natural topography of the land and captures the atmosphere of the good-old-days of Hawaii. On clear days, there are magnificent views of Pearl Harbor and Diamond head, and if you stay into the evening, you can see the beautiful city lights of Honolulu.

Unit price perThe Strong Current Surf Shop has been a staple on the North Shore since 1989. The shop was founded by the husband-and-wife team of Johnny and Bonnie Moore, who left New Jersey for a slice of Hawaiian heaven. Originally the shop sold surfboards, surfboard accessories and apparel, but it quickly became evident that their apparel, which they screen printed upstairs from their shop, was the big draw. In 1993 the shop also became the home for the Hale'iwa Surf Museum. A surf museum in an apparel store, what a crazy idea, right? ;)

After the theatre closed, Sumie Shimoda Aoki and her son Michael Aoki, opened up Aoki's Shave Ice in 1981. Nestled in historic Haliewa town, Aoki's makes all their own syrup daily and offers delicious flavors of ice cream and smoothies as well.
