Draper and Maynard fulfilled his request with the first glove, padding included, specifically designed for playing baseball. In 1881, the Draper & Maynard Company was off to a booming start, quickly escalating from solely producing deerskin glove markers to becoming a prosperous sporting goods manufacturer. Home to Draper & Maynard was The Plymouth Normal School in Plymouth, New Hampshire the center of the town where locals Draper and Maynard founded their company. D&M became one of the largest sporting good manufacturers in the country. Babe Ruth pitched 14 full innings for a 2-1 victory over the Brooklyn Dodgers to win the World Series, wearing a D&M glove.
